Warming Chai Paste

Mmm!

Ingredients
1 tablespoon ginger
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon cardamom
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon clove
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
*all spices are ground/powdered, and the proportions can be adjusted to taste
Optional ingredients: Cacao, powdered herbs such as ashwaganda, astragalus, etc.

Instructions

Mix powders together in a bowl, then add honey until the consistency is a smooth paste. (Putting solid honey in the microwave for 30 seconds is helpful before mixing in.) Store in a jar. Add a small dollop (about a teaspoon) to a cup of black, green, or herbal tea – or warm milk. Mix into ice cream, yogurt, or spread on toast with nut butter.

(A possible variation: Powdered ginger, cayenne, honey – to mix with hot water and lemon…)
