Berry Sauce

It’s saskatoon season!

Ingredients

4 cups fresh or frozen berries (Note: It’s easy to cut this recipe in half to make less.)
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons corn starch mixed with 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the berries, water, and sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. It might look like there’s not enough liquid at first, but some liquid will come from the berries.

In a small bowl, mix together the corn starch and water. (It’s best to make this mixture separately before adding to the pot, to prevent lumps.) Slowly pour this mixture into the saucepan, and allow to simmer – stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
