Corn on the Cob

corn
Summer food.

It’s corn season! Every year I need to remember how to cook corn on the cob. It’s easy to do, but I wanted to add this post for people who might not have done it before, or who haven’t done it recently.

Instructions

I know of three methods…

1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add peeled (shucked?) corn to the pot and cook at a rolling boil for 5 minutes.

2. My mom is keen on cooking corn in the microwave. Here are her instructions: “Peel off most of the leaves but leave a few on to keep the cob moist. For 1 or 2 cobs, cook on high for 3 minutes. Cool a little. Peel off leaves and tassel. Enjoy with butter and salt.”

3. Grill on the barbecue (high heat) for 10 minutes, turning often.
